So, someone emailed me the other day asking if I was okay because I haven’t posted a pregnancy picture lately.
Yes, I am totally okay.
Just huge, uncomfortable, and an emotional trainwreck. I’m one dirty look away from a complete and total melt down.
No mean comments, you HEAR ME?? I can’t take it.
Also, my husband was out of town last week because for some reason, he seems to think that stuff like fishing and sleeping outside is important, which is completely ridiculous OBVIOUSLY.
And since I spent the week growing a baby WITHOUT back rubs AND trying not to get murdered, I didn’t get around to a photo or a baby update.
I will get a photo this week (33 Weeks, holla!!) but in the meantime, know that I’m fine, and Lucy is more and more of a hot kicking mess by the day.
Honestly, I can’t wait for her to get here so she and I can have a talk about personal space and ribs and why we need them.
Right now I am in the midst of trying to get some recipes baked and photographed ahead so I can take some time off with Baby Girl Lucy Lu. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a new baby, the last thing I want is to spend the month stressed out about blog stuff.
This is a fun and super duper easy recipe that I made while my husband was gone and my back was unrubbed.
Candy Corn Bark!!
It’s actually one of those treats that is more of a gift idea, because the idea is so simple, but if you take some extra time to package it up, it turns into a really special teacher/neighbor/co worker gift.
Here’s how you make it:
You’ll need:
2 cups milk chocolate candy melts
2 cups white chocolate (vanilla) candy melts
1/2 cup orange candy melts
1/2 cup yellow candy melts
About a cup of candy corn
1. Spread melted milk chocolate on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. I used a baking sheet that was roughly 9×13. Place baking sheet in the freezer for about 5 minutes until chocolate has hardened.
2. Melt white chocolate, and yellow and orange candy melts. Spread white chocolate evenly over milk chocolate layer.
2. Working quickly, spoon the orange and yellow candy over the melted white chocolate, randomly. Use a knife to draw swirls in the chocolate.
3. Before candy sets, sprinkle candy corns across the top of the bark, pressing gently to make sure it sticks.
4. Place pan in the freezer for about 5 minutes, then remove and break into pieces.
I filled treat bags with the bark and attached cute tags:
The tags were actually really inexpensive and easy to put together and I’ve got a material list and step by step instructions HERE, if you’re interested. They’re great for any kind of Halloween treat!!
This bark is extremely versatile, you could also switch Halloween M&M’s and make different colored swirls to match — just use your imagination!!
